PROVIDING QUALITY CARE
The Residential Treatment Centre operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The residents receive personalized services tailored to meet their needs. While receiving residential treatment, the Amina team is responsible for assessing the emotional, behavioral, medical, educational, and social needs, and support these needs safely. Through the expertise of the residential staff the girls are given quality attention and engaged in impactful fun and education focused activities.
OUR RESIDENTIAL SERVICES
COUNSELING SERVICES
Counseling services are provided as indicated by the psychosocial assessment completed during the admission process. Individual and group counseling are provided to the girls based on their specific needs. When families are able to participate, family counseling is considered critical and is provided. Several licensed professional care workers make up our counseling staff.
BEHAVIOURAL TREATMENT
Positive reinforcement, natural consequences, modeling, and verbal prompting are among the social learning and cognitive-behavioral techniques used. The direct care staff may use Safe Crisis Management (SCM) techniques and other industry-standard interventions for behavior management. We does not employ aversive behavior management, seclusion, time out rooms, or mechanical restraints. We use techniques that are based on principles used in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for specifically identified behaviors.
RECREATION & LEISURE SERVICES
A regular schedule of recreation and leisure opportunities offers a variety of options for residents participation on and off residency, as well as in the surrounding metropolitan Houston area. The goal of these activities overseen by the program facilitator in collaboration with the Direct Care Workers is to promote cooperation, engagement and stimulate interest and enthusiasm within our residents for participation in activities. By doing so, we explore their changing interests and developmental needs.
DIETARY PLANNING & NUTRITION
Meals are served and prepared family-style in the home. Nutritious meals are prepared in safe and sanitary conditions, and special diets are implemented according to physician orders when necessary. A registered dietitian provides monitoring and evaluation of the food service and assists direct care staff in dietary planning and nutrition education
